Pressure Cooker Beef Stroganoff
The wonderful thing about dishes like beef stroganof is the multiple ways that the dish can be made and for versatility in ingredients. Stroganoff can be made with various types of beef, noodles and creams. Additionally, it can be made in a pan on top of the stove or in dutch ovens inside the ovens. There are even boxed versions with powdered cream products, but the dish itself is easy enough to make and adding a pressure cooker provides a hearty filling meal quickly. Furthermore, the cut of beef can be widely variable because even the toughest cuts can be made tender with the use of a pressure cooker. With the beef choice made, this recipe assumes the beef is a tough cut.
The pressure cooker should be filed with a pound of cut beef. water can be added to the pot along with onions and mushrooms. The pressure cooker should be used according to the directions for safety. Most one inch cubes will be ready in approximately 30 to 45 minutes. After the meat is done and the pot opened, but while the meat is still very warm, add noodles and enough water or stock to cover. The pressure cooker is only being used as a pot at this point, remove from heat when noodles are al dente. After allowing for some cooling, add the chosen cream product. Stroganoff can be made with various forms of sweet cream or sour cream can be used. After the cream has been added, remove to a serving dish.
