Hearty and Cozy Winter Soups

There is nothing better than hearty winter soups that help keep you warm and cozy on cold winter nights. These soups are worth the time it takes to make, which isn’t a lot and will no doubt be repeated throughout the season.

Wonton Soup
This wonton soup is great because you can make the wontons up and freeze them seperately for just when you need them. Store bought wonton wrappers are filled with a mixture of chopped chicken, sesame oil, green onions and a splash of soy sauce. Roll away and lay on a pan with wax paper and freeze and bag. The broth is a simple mixture of chicken broth, a splash of soy sauce and sesame oil. Drop in as many wontons as you want and eat right away. You’ll truly think you ordered out.

Tortellini & Spinach Soup
Tortellini and spinach soup is so good and one of those soups that leaves you feeling nice and full. A simple chicken or vegetable broth with some italian spices and garlic gets one of those lovely blocks of chopped spinach from the freezer section. Let that cook to boiling and add tortellini. You can even cook the tortellini before hand and add to each bowl. Whichever way you won’t have leftovers.

Healthy Veggie Soup
This is a favorite because just go through your veggies and add away. Start with a nice vegetable base and throw in all the veggies you’ve been wondering what to do with. A can of tomatoes adds a nice thickness to this soup. Chop up a few potatoes and add all your favorite spices. This soup tends to change for whoever makes it, so make it your own and make it tonight!

Meatball Noodle Soup
A favorite of sick kids and adults alike is meatball noodle soup. A nice beef broth with thyme and rosemary gets some delicious mini meatballs and nice butter noodles. Add carrots and celery for some vitamins and start feeling better.
