Moscow Mule Recipe

The Moscow Mule has been around since the year of 1948, normally this cocktail of sorts is enjoyed in a copper mug; (recommended for best taste and temperature control, but it is not required.) There are three main reasons why this cocktail in particular is served in a copper mug.

1)Temperature: metal adapts quicker and holds the cold longer for a more cooled down enjoyment.

2)Taste: This one will vary depending on one’s opinion, but reports have been made that the copper enhances taste and even improves the drink’s aroma too.

3) Presentation: Plainly put a copper mug looks better than the traditional glass, right?

No matter how someone makes it this drink is downright delicious! Moscow mule is normally served on the rocks (poured over ice) and with a lime wedge as the standard garnish.

What is required for this cocktail?

* Crushed Ice
* 2 ounces vodka
* 1/2 ounce fresh lime juice
* 4 ounces ginger beer
* 4 slices fresh ginger (optional)
* 1 lime wedge

Fill a cocktail shaker with crushed (or cubed) ice, add the vodka, lime juice and if you choose to add ginger slices this would be the time. Now all that’s left to do is shake well and strain into a copper mug or highball glass. Make sure to remember to add the ice from the shaker to the mug. Pour in the ginger beer, then add a straw and lime wedge for garnish and walla! You have yourself a Moscow Mule. Enjoy!
